Donated an ECG machine (BPL Model, CARDIAT 8108 View) and a Foetal Doppler Baby Heart Monitor (V Comin FD 200D) to Libania Health Centre, a dispensary run by the Infant Jesus of Prague Convent School, for the benefit of the fisher folk in Manori.

The Foundation collaborated with the Indian Red Cross Society in Alang, Gujarat, to expand an existing orthopedic and burns ward from six to nine beds for the welfare of ship breakers.

Spread over two years, the Foundation’s anti-tuberculosis drive amongst 12,000 ship breakers at Kuala Bunder spearheaded by FMR (Foundation for Medical Research) and PUKAR’s Bare Foot Researchers. After the awareness campaign, the team continued house to house surveys of the community and those found symptomatic were sent for x-ray examination, sputum smear examination, montue test on children and those tested positive were referred to nearby Government hospitals for treatment.

Concluded in October 2015, this two-year anti-tuberculosis drive conducted jointly with The Foundation for Medical Research (FMR) and PUKAR (NGO) thoroughly screened 12,000 ship breakers at Kaula Bunder for TB. Respondents detected with TB were referred for further medical treatment at J.J. Hospital and B.J. Wadia children Hospital.

» COMMUNITY MEDICINE PROGRAMME, SUNDERBANS, 2007-2008
Supported the Association of Conservation and Tourism (ACT) in setting
up more than 68 medical camps in remote villages on the island of Bali
in the Sunderbans Tiger Reserve benefitting 18,000 villagers, primarily
women, children and the elderly.
Also,Initiated a para professional health workers training programme
in collaboration with Child In Need Institute (CINI), Kolkata. 15 volunteers
of ACT, 10 semi-skilled practicing dais, 10 Rural Medical Practitioners
from villages of Sundarbans will be trained to address health care needs
of the village.

» SEAMEN'S WARD, 1998
The seamen's ward at St. George's Hospital in Mumbai, established in
the pre-Independence era, was in dire need of renovation. The Vasant
J Sheth Memorial Foundation upgraded and equipped the ward with modern
equipment and enabled the hospital to engage an excellent panel of doctors
and nurses.

Funded an orthopedic and burns ward in the Indian Red Cross Society
Hospital in Alang, Gujarat, 1997. In addition to this, donated two ambulances
for accident victims from the hazardous ship breaking industry.
